Pectus Carinatum Blog

audiovisual What that usually does not do justice to the novels is a topic that I tried and when I spoke of Dracula. And it is true that sometimes the movies of books I have enjoyed greatly disappointed me ( The House of the Spirits , Interview with the Vampire). But now I just walk in the BBC series (1995) and film (2005), Pride and Prejudice immediately after reading my novel, and I can say that although the text itself was already full, so series as (to a lesser extent) the film, not only disappointed me, but I've loved.

The series, for the wonderful interpretation of Jennifer Ehle, and this effect on the character of Darcy, Colin Firth great, and way of displaying the British containment of the time, where feelings were never expressed, not only in public, but even in private. But this contention multiplying the curiosity of a story that seems impossible that accrues to no good, but in the end, for respite from the viewer, was happily resolved. That contention was already in Austen's own, which may even criticize it in the mouth of Charlotte, where Lizzie warned that the timidity of her sister could damage it. But the series was evident, and gave an incredible force of the narrative.

As for the movie, saying that Darcy begins as a reflection of the own Colin Firth in the series. But it's clear, the interpretation of Firth was sitting chair, and there was no other way to deal with the paper. As to the contention, it is much smaller, but the movie, a beautiful art bill has some visual findings (such as the close-up of hand holding Lizzie Darcy to help her get in the car) that also serve to add points to the story. Glad

be possible to read a novel like this, and then the enjoyment does not end in the novel itself, but have a few more hours of pure delight watching television, and the vicissitudes of Lizzie and Darcy in that difficult Regency England go into a loop that appears to have no end. Warning, danger of being caught in history, but worth it!
